Who Needs this Training?

Affected employees shall be trained by a qualified person to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and how to control or minimize those hazards. Many employees have been killed or seriously injured because they were unaware of workplace hazards or did not understand the consequences of exposure to those hazards. This provision clearly indicates the hazards regarding which training must be provided.

 Dangers of Remaining Uncertified

When the employer has reason to believe an employee lacks the skill or understanding needed for safe work involving scaffolds, retraining shall be performed until proficiency is established.
