Who Needs this Training?

According to OSHA All employees working in these areas:

• Those who work around Forklifts.
• Workers indoors that use Forklifts.
• Those not wearing enough PPE while using Forklifts.
• Those that are new to Forklifts.

Danger of Remaining Uncertified

The most common types of workplace accidents involving forklifts are turnovers and collisions, which are due primarily to operator error. But many of these accidents could have been prevented if operators received proper training.

Unlicensed forklift operators lack the training needed to properly operate a forklift under conditions such as on ramps or slopes, rough or uneven terrain, and various other adverse jobsite conditions. They require skills only professional training can provide.

Without proper training, unlicensed operators:

Aren’t capable of recognizing and avoiding potential hazards that could result in accidents causing serious injuries or fatalities.

Won’t understand the importance of properly inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.

Lack the knowledge and experience to safely work around overhead obstacles, avoid electrical hazards and operate the equipment when there are pedestrians present.

Course Layout

Course format consists of video instruction, intermediate quizzes, and Final Knowledge Check

Course Duration

A minimum of 45 minutes is required to complete this course.

Recertification

When an employer has reason to believe that an affected worker does not recognize existing hazards or proper precautions at some point after the initial training, the employer is required to provide retraining for that worker, in accordance with 29 CFR 1926 and 29 CFR 1910. For example, workers must be retrained when:

• Changes in the workplace render previous training obsolete.
• Forklift and PIT related procedures being used have changed.
• Inadequacies in workers’ knowledge or ladder precautions indicate that they do not adequately understand training.

 

Certificate of Completion

A completion certificate is available for printing immediately upon successfully finishing the course.
