Crane Awareness

Sub-Title:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Crane Standards, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910 and 1926 contain requirements for Cranes. This standard applies to power-operated equipment, when used in construction, that can hoist, lower, and horizontally move a suspended load.

Who Needs this Training?

The employer must provide each operator-in-training with sufficient training, through a combination of formal and practical instruction, to ensure that the operator in- training develops the skills, knowledge, and ability to recognize and avert risk necessary to operate the equipment safely for assigned work.

Dangers of Remaining Uncertified

An employee who has not been certified/licensed and evaluated to operate assigned equipment in accordance with this section may only operate the equipment as an operator-in-training under supervision. Workers can cause damage, harm or injuries if not properly trained.

Course Duration
A minimum of 40 minutes is required to complete this course.

Recertification
OSHA requires annual recertification for workers where occupational exposure takes place.

A completion certificate is available for printing immediately upon successfully finishing the course.
