EPCOR Utilities becomes a user of ISN®’s Contractor Management System. EPCOR joins almost 700 other hiring clients to utilize ISNetworld® to manage and vet their contractors.
EPCOR was created in 1996 as the Edmonton Power Corporation, but the company history goes all the way back to 1891 when the company was authorized under the City of Edmonton Bylaw. In 2008 EPCOR was named one of “Canada’s top 100 employers” by Mediacorp Canada Inc. In 2011 EPCOR entered the United States by acquiring Chaparral City Water Company from American States Water and the Arizona and New Mexico operations of American Water.
The company expansion continued. In 2015 EPCOR USA, Maricopa County and the City of Glendale marked the start of construction on a 40-acre facility that fuels growth and development along the Loop 303 transportation corridor in Maricopa County. In 2017 EPCOR entered the natural gas market by acquiring two natural gas companies. Natural Resource Gas Limited and Hughes Gas Resources Inc. Today, according to their website, EPCOR employs 3600 employees and continues to grow.
ISNetworld® is an industry leader in supply chain risk management. Established in 2001, ISN® currently has over 700 hiring clients and 70,000+ contractors in the network. ISNetworld® streamlines the contractor management and contractor prequalification process. Without companies like ISN®, it is likely that hiring companies would struggle to organize the process of contractor information management. Partnered with ISN®, companies can spend more time on things to grow their business and less time vetting their contractors and suppliers.
EPCOR contractors will need to sign up with ISN® to be considered in the contractor selection process. There is a fee associated with ISN® membership but EPCOR believes the benefits outweigh the costs by far. For contractors who already have an existing ISN® account, no additional fee is required, but will need to make sure they are connected with EPCOR within ISN®. Contractors will need to complete the following:
- Company Profile
- HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Questionnaire
- HSE Written Programs
- OSHA Forms
- Experience Modification Rate
- Other documentation as required
Contractors will have until May 26th, 2022, to complete all required items and gain compliance with EPCOR within ISN®.
